Roundoak Farm Review
What a cracking little Kentish site this is. An hour from London but deep in countryside on the southerly slopes of the Greensand Ridge overlooking the Weald of Kent, Roundoak Farm has warm welcomes, its own produce for sale, and lots of farming activity to see throughout the year.
Roundoak is a working farm breeding Hebridean sheep and Highland cows, mainly on grass over 180 acres and including five acres of natural oak woodland at Sutton Valence. Guests are welcome to wander the farmyard by arrangement: depending on the time of year, you could see sheep, lambs, pigs, piglets, cows, calves, chicken, chicks, turkeys and ducks…
The five-acre oak woodland on site has a wooded walk open to guests and – we like – a large barbecue area available by arrangement: buy farm produce for the barbie (eggs, meat including pork sausages, bacon, lamb and beef) from owners Ruth and Norman, who also produce their own bed throws and wool.
The site has secure coded access gates and security cameras.
No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
A small charge of £2.50 per night per person applies for the use of shower and shared facilities.
