Goat rock is so peaceful and there is wildlife galore, it is a stunning camp spot with 200 acres of native flora and fauna. Bush walks and enormous rocks for kids to climb and explore on to bring back that sense of adventure modern day life takes away. The family dog and push bikes are allowed so the whole family can enjoy a well earned break together.
Goat Rock offers long drop toilets and basic shower facilities, campfire rings and lots of space. It has a few covered picnic table shelters and good flat grass covered camp spots. Make sure you bring a good pair of sneakers or boots and the camera you will want to snap up it’s beauty. Camping fees are minimal as there is no electricity so bring a light and your own food. There is wood for having a fire and or bbq.
Make sure you climb the impressive Goat Rock which is easy to do and you will be rewarded with amazing views of the surrounds.
The Croft family have set aside 200 acres on their 8000 acre working sheep property to share its beauty with others. There is plenty of room for picnics & barbeques. The campsites are set in natural bushland amongst large granite boulders and Moreton Bay Fig trees and campers have their choice of sites. Goat Rock is open all year round and 24 hours a day. The camping ground is unmanned and whilst bookings are appreciated, they are not necessary. An Honesty Tin is provided at the Information Stand for camping and day visitor fees and is checked daily. Camping sites are unmarked and allow visitors the freedom to choose a site that suits their specific requirements.

Goat Rock Camping Ground & Tourist Park is situated in the Border region of Southern Queensland Country and the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales. We are located 16km south of Texas, Queensland, just off the Bruxner Highway. We are only 4hrs from Brisbane/Gold Coast, 2hrs from Toowoomba, 1 1/2 hrs from Warwick, Goondiwindi, Stanthorpe, Inverell and Tenterfield and 3 1/2 hrs from Lismore.
Head south out of Texas towards the Bruxner Highway. At the T-Intersection turn to your right, after approx. 50 metres, turn to your left onto Goat Rock Road. After 11 km of gravel road, turn right at the white wagon wheel and turn right again into Goat Rock. Follow the road and you will see the Information Stand, camping area, toilets & showers and picnic facilities.
