Adavale Outback Pub and Store, Country Pub Camping
The town of Adavale is located approximately 100km north of Quilpie and is the gateway to one of Outback Queensland’s best kept secrets… the stunning Hell Hole Gorge National Park.
This iconic outback town played an important part in the history of the Quilpie Shire, as it was once the central business centre. Discover Adavale’s intriguing history at the outdoor museum and Police Hut Museum and enjoy the historical photos displayed at the Community Hall.
While in Adavale, be sure to pop into the Adavale Pub & General Store and have a yarn to some of the friendly locals. You can even have your photo taken with the giant beer can.
Escape deep into weathered gorges and unexpected waterholes at Hell Hole Gorge National Park, located 69km from Adavale. With its picturesque scenery and waterholes, this National Park provides opportunities for camping and related activities such as 4wding, hiking, bird watching, swimming and photography.
Free camping can be found at Adavale’s Shire Community Hall and the nearby bush camping. Visitors are welcome to camp or caravan with hot and cold showers and toilets available. Donation to Royal Flying Doctor Service for your stay may be made at the Pub opposite the camp site.
