First things first before i go on about the Mitchell Falls Camping Review, I want to say that the most popular camping area on the Mitchell Plateau is huge, yes huge! It is split into a “quiet area” and one that is suitable for generator use.

As you can imagine the sites have plenty of room and thankfully every site is lucky enough to have a fireplace. There are toilets but no showers. Water is available from Mertens Creek.

A drinking water collection point is located upstream, complete with steps and a bucket on a chain. Downstream, at the other end of the camping area, you can use the creek for swimming and bathing. Obviously no soap is allowed in the creek.

There are sealed vault pit toilets and water is available from Mertens Creek. Water (collected at a point upstream) but should be boiled before use. You are allowed to swim downstream but please do not use soap.

Vehicle entry and camping fees apply. Rangers are based in the campground from May to October.

$7.50 adult per night

$5.50 concession card holder per night

$2.20 child per night (over 5 and under 16 years)
