We had a great opportunity to spend the weekend at the Brisbane Valley Airshow. So what does this have to do with camping? Well they have camping, and the view, it is nothing short of spectacular. With everything from remote control planes all the way up to Jet propelled aircraft.
The entry fee is very modest at only $20 if you booked online or $25 if you pay at the gate and under 12’s are free, and camping fees are only $20 per night.
The weather was perfect, the show spectacular and the atmosphere was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and it is great to see so many like minded people and families enjoying a common interest.
The variety of aircraft was amazing and this event is starting to become big, it’s now known as the big little airshow and this is shown in the quality of the shows, aircraft and the pilots.
There is flat easy access for camping and it is not crowded, porta loo’s are available and the camp ground is within 1 min walk to the airstrip. The view from your camp spot is a perfect place for kicking back having a drink and watching the planes, this is as close to nirvana as you’re going to get!
This is a great community event and all funds go back to paying back the loan of the airfield. There is food stalls but they get extremely busy, no real issues at all other than that.
I can not recommend this highly enough and what better place to spend a weekend camping than at the Brisbane Valley Airshow.
